Venice Film Festival
Mirco & Mirco have been invited to attend this years Venice Film Festival courtesy of Mr Al Pacino.
After working on designs for ‘The Cadogan Hotel, Sloane Street, London – famous for the destination of Oscar Wildes arrest and more recently for Mr Pacinos new film Wilde Salome which will be premiering at the film festival this weekend- a documentary about Oscar Wildes life.
We couldn’t be more honoured to attend & couldn’t wait to share the news with you – Venice here we come!
DESIGN PAYS OFF! – A Story of Success!
After Mirco & Mirco restored & redesigned The Cumberland Hotel, Bournemouth – A typical ‘dated nursing home look & feel hotel’ and brought it back to life with a Bang in 2007! Creating a cool but sophisticated Deco Miami style hotel on the British south coast.
Turning the project round in just 6 weeks & working 24hour shifts to reach the deadline of the 102 bedroom hotels makeover, the results have been outstanding!
The Cumberland Hotel are now serial award winners!
Most recently being nominated in two categories in the Hotel Of Excellence Awards and winning both of them!
Beating many nationally renowned hotels including the 5 star Goring Hotel, London’s only independent & family owned hotel.
Director of the Cumberland Hotel Says:
‘ When we acquired the hotel, it was pretty much typical of the ‘brown & orange’ image of resort hotels and in reality, many international standard hotels.
It was running at 55% occupancy & was very dowdy & uncared for.
If we were to make a success of it, we needed to make some bold decisions, so we closed it down, hired interior designers Mirco & Mirco and created a very special ambience anchored in our trademark red & black livery.’
